One of our brewers, Tye Belanger, love Cinnamon Churros.
He loves them so much he wanted to make a beer that tastes like one.
This Mexican dessert inspired beer is made to taste and smell just like it should. Pouring a deep caramel hue, with rich cinnamon sugar flavours and a subtle sweetness. 9 IBU

473 mL can from the brewery; dated May 2 2025 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear orange-amber colour, kicking up an inch of bubbly, soapy white head that sizzles off within a minute or two. A frothy collar is left encircling an archipelago of filmy patches on the surface; scant lace production. The aroma is almost uncannily similar to a churro - I'm getting cinnamon, demerara sugar, doughy malts and a touch of honey sweetness.

This beer does exactly what it needs to do; no more, no less. Doughy malts, cinnamon sugar and honey, with cinnamon spiciness continuing into a doughy, sugary-sweet aftertaste that lasts for a second or two. Light-ish in body, with relatively low carbonation that meekly brushes across the palate; very smooth mouthfeel, with surprisingly high drinkability. As easy as this is to knock back, it's also rather sugary, so one serving seems like it should be enough.

Final Grade: 3.76, a fairly-earned B+. With beers like Churronimo!, my primary concern is whether or not they've managed to successfully put over the gimmick that they were going for. I believe that this beer does precisely that - in fact, it might do that a little too well for its own good. It's literally just a doughy, sugary-sweet blonde ale with cinnamon - palatable, sure, but not something I see myself craving on a regular basis. I guess it'd work well as a lighter dessert beer, or if you're craving a beavertail, but other than that, it's basically just a novelty. Worth trying at least once.
