An ode to the original red, white, and blue special lager. Brewed with only the finest American ingredients. This is a collaboration with the Peoria 33 Room and is inspired by the original 1899 recipe.

poured from a 16oz can into a new glarus dimpled mug. pours a clear straw gold with a half finger of soapy white head. i get a lot of ethanol / corn on the nose. similar with the taste but it finishes smoother. it’s definitely a riff on the ol’ domestic adjunct lager. medium-full mouthfeel with a little less carbonation than you’d expect for (or hope for) from the style. it hits the mark trying to somewhat replicate PBR. drinks a lot heavier than it’s ABV would lead on and its aftertaste is far too reminiscent of the ‘real deal.’ still, it’s enjoyable and a fun throwback to the red, white and blue.
