Originally reviewed on August 18, 2006. On tap at the brewpub. Aroma is a more authentic tart blueberry skin, with edges of vegetal and a core of jam sweetness. Blends well with the malt sugars. Spicy, as if with andouille sausage. Reminds me very much of Fitgers Blitzens Blueberry Porter. Its all downhill from here. Pour of heavily hazed peach, with gold fringes. Rim of extremely coarse bubbly white head. No carbonation. This beer is 100% flat. Thats horrible. The flavor is a weak soapy malt candy, with artificial blueberries creeping in from the corners. Again, a fake blueberry soap. Absolutely no carbonation. This beer is 100% flat, fresh from the tap. Palate, sans carbonation, is wickingly sweet. Shouldnt beer be carbonated? At least the blueberry flavor was quasi-authentic.
