Under a moderately short but dense khaki foam, a beautifully suspended haze projects hues of dark brown to amber in thin and swiftly shifting gradients that very quickly lighten up all the way to a maize gold at the bottom of the glass. I've seen very few beers with such a color spectrum.
Tart like grapefruit with a little spice and a touch of funky oak up front, it becomes orange forward in the middle. A funk that's a bit lactic but accented by a touch of damp cracker helps this to handily eschew the heavy acid some of their earliest entries contained.
Refreshing.

The second batch released during their 7th anniversary in 2024 is even better. Very refreshingly zippy, I taste lime and kumquat with a hint of dill before it finishes just semi-dry and somewhat rounded. The nose is mildly oaky and funky, sort of dusty and nutty, while the palate is low on acid. The exhale has some wheat and lemonade.
My previous rating was 4.28.
