"Landbier" is a German style without a true, agreed upon definition. While the term roughly translates to "Country Beer", the ingredients used are often different from region to region and from brewer to brewer. Traditionally, smaller, local breweries in Germany would make a Landbier using whatever grains were available to them, making this style rustic in nature and ever-evolving. Our version utilizes the types of grains those brewers might utilize, including spelt and rye. Combined with German Tettnang hops, the finished beer is crackery, full-bodied, and has just a touch of lingering bitterness.
