Pours a nice dark scarlet tone, with a thin layer of pinkish white foam that fades quickly. The appearance is the best quality of the beer unfortunately.
Chlorine in the aroma that mars any other characteristics. Faint cherry kool-aid behind the chlorine. Lactobacillus acidity.
Taste is similarly marred by chlorine. Tart lacto crispness, weird chlorine or solvent cleaner off notes that linger into the aftertaste, more than any fleeting cherry character. Some odd grape nuts cereal malt character. Light bodied, mildly acidic and well carbonated. Very disjointed and lacking any depth.
Overall the chlorine off notes make this hard to drink unfortunately. Back to the drawing board, this really needs some cleaning up, no pun intended.
Thanks to Lee for this one!
