16oz can served in a big snifter. If it's dated, I don't see it. Bought it on Tavour.
Pours hazy amber-yellow with a medium sized head that collapses to a ring and a film. Carbonation is present, but fine and slow. Smell is earthy, resinous. If I smell straight from the can, heavily resinous, and something like grapefruit and guava.
Taste is resinous and...fruity. Let me see if I can unpack that a little. There is an element that makes me think of lemon zest and lemon pith. Not tart, but bitter and biting. There is something that makes me think of guava, but isn't really a clear guava flavor -- darker somehow (reminder to self: try guava again and refresh memory of guava flavor). There's a strong, late bitter aftertaste that makes me think of hop resin. Not much else I can pick apart right now.
Mouthfeel is medium, but builds up a stickiness. Overall...I think this is my first Enigma single hop beer. I'm not turned off by it, but I'm not sold yet. I would certainly try more for science. I suspect I could get on board.
