Misnomer--sour ale? Nothing sour about it. This is a smoothie with ale labeling. Pours ruby red and pulpy, just like a smoothie. The fruit flavor is mega--berry, peach, pineapple dance in unison, and it is tasty. Hops and malt? You'll have to dig very hard to sense any shred of them in the mix. Did I say it was tasty? No dessert needed tonight!

On tap at Mortalis Brewing Co in Avon, NY.
This one pours a ridiculous looking light reddish/orange color - it looks thick and chunky, basically - like a melted smoothie. There's a small head, and fruit puree staining the glass.
It's kind of pointless to break the aroma down here - look at the title, that's the fruit you get. It's one of the more fruit forward beers I've ever tasted.
The taste is the same. I have no idea what the base beer tastes like - it's just pure melted smoothie. It's delicious but it sure is confusing.
The texture on this is unreal - just so thick and chewy and ridiculous ,with a really high level of drinkabiity.
As someone who loves a great traditional beer made to style, this beer sets off all sorts of alarms in my head. Despite that, I find this very delicious.
