This imperial stout is a collaboration with one of our original Kickstarter supporters, Mama Lor’s Cafe. We conditioned the beer on almonds, locally roasted cacao nibs, and 40lbs of fresh almond cookies baked right at Mama Lor’s Cafe. These flavors blend together to recreate one our favorite desserts.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a TG MD snifter. pours thick and oily black with minimal mocha brown foam head. chocolate, vanilla and amaretto on the nose. taste is chocolate, cookie dough, chocolate-covered cherry and nuts. thick, full mouthfeel with just enough carb to the finish to keep it from being tiring to drink. this is oddly sweet yet crazy easy to drink. it almost doesn’t seem pastry even though that’s totally what it is. i found this unique and highly enjoyable.

Had on tap at MBC.
Excellent deeply rich flavored Imp Pastry Stout. Huge with almonds and solid cacao base.
Nice nose. Just a bit bright on carbonation for me… but full of classic Mortalis softness.
Another great stout from these guys.

500ml bottle at share, thank to Redbeard. Black, oily pour with a small ring of beige head. Chocolate dominates the aroma and taste, accented with vanilla, nuts and milk. Succulant and luscious. A real treat.

On tap at Mama Lor's Cafe in Webster, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like almond frosting, almond cookies, black cherry, chocolate fudge, vanilla, and molasses.
This is quite sweet, but it still works very well for me. There's a lot of dark fruit and cherry flavors, along with the sweet creamy and nutty almond flavors. The chocolate additionally adds to the sweetness. I couldn't drink a lot of this, but it's undeniably tasty.
This is thick and creamy, with a lower level of carbonation, and no real booziness at all, which is wonderful. It's surprisingly drinkable.
Mortalis can keep producing these awesome stouts and I'll continue to want to mainline them straight into my eyeballs.
