This Imperial Stout is a collaboration with one of our original Kickstarter supporters, Mama Lor’s Cafe. We conditioned the beer on almonds, locally roasted cacao nibs, and fresh almond cookies baked right at Mama Lor’s Cafe. We then aged the beer for 13 months in a Apple Brandy barrel.

2023 bottle. Had thanks to Scott from New Jersey who bought one for the bottle pours. Deepest darkest chestnut color with slight amber highlights. Viscous as sludge, owing in part no doubt to the cookie treatment. Nose is spot on fresh almond cookie. Flavor brings a massive amount of wet wood apple brandy in preparation of a sweet stout base, followed with that same fresh almond cookie from the aroma. 13% brings some slow oomph, but hits like a bully. Mouthfeel is heavy, syrupy but cut enough by the apple, esthers, tannins, and alcohol. Very well done.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like amaretto, chocolate syrup, almond cookies, dried cherry, candied apples, oak, and maple.

This is a sweet and monstrously decadent treat. The almond flavor is so well done, creamy, almost like vanilla/almond coffee creamer, with dried maraschino cherry, raisin, milk chocolate, cookie, and slight roast. The barrel adds a layer of caramel candy apple type flavor, with a hint of oak.

This is big and thick, with a lower level of carbonation, with no real booziness to it.

This is just slightly the lesser of the two barrel-aged variants, but it's still an excellent beer. Apple brandy is such a worthy partner to the almond goodness here.
