This Imperial Milk Stout was brewed with a multitude of specialty grains, flaked oats, and milk sugar. We then aged the beer on in-house ripened/pureed bananas and peanuts. A rich breakfast smoothie fit for the Goddess of fruit trees.

a: jet black color with a thin film dark tan head. looks like motor oil
s: cocoa, loads of molasses, cola, soy sauce. dark chocolate, fig, a faint peanut butter. leather, sweet oak, and sweet milk chocolate. sweet caramel malts, and brown sugar
t: wow. absolute huge hit of sugar upfront, so much so that it tinges the tongue. leather, cocoa, sweet chocolate, caramel. some faint dark bitter chocolate and roasted malts at the end
m: full mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. sticky as well
o: this is an overwhelmingly sweet beer. there is a decent base in here, but way too sweet even for the style

Received a bottle from @mikexw in the Barleywine/Stout BIF#1 11-4-23. i believe this was packaged in 2022; consumed 12-2-23.
Beer poured black as night with a nice tan head.
Nose is giving me mildly roasted malts, nuts, and banana.
Taste is a large mild roasted malt base with a touch of chocolate malts that is rested on and gives forth plenty of peanuts and bananas. Finishes surprisingly balanced from adequate hopping with a nice warming with each sip.
Mouthfeel is large bodied, very thick and chunky from the banana and peanuts.
Overall a nicely crafted beer that gives me a whole new perspective on pastry stouts!

This was a pilot batch, 130 bottle release. Hopefully a lot of other people liked this as much as I did so Mortalis will make a bigger B2 in the future.
This one pours as black as the darkest night, with a small head and not much lacing.
This smells like roasted peanuts, caramelized and flambéed bananas, and milk chocolate.
Peanut butter and banana is afternoon treat as old as time itself, and this beer does a nice job at approximating that childhood feeling. It’s a high quality and non-artificial banana character, roasted and caramelized, with a nice and not too ripe sweetness and earthiness. Peanut butter is often done badly in beer, and that’s not the case here - it’s more actual peanut than sweet peanut butter, and that works for me. The base stout is there just to highlight the flavor additions, but it’s the classic creamy and thick chocolatey base you expect from Mortalis.
This is creamy, rich and silky, and not quite as sweet as Mortalis beers. It feels a touch more balanced.
This was a really fun beer to be able to try. I feel more and more breweries are dipping their toes into the banana stout game, and I’m not at all surprised that Mortalis would nail it.
