Collaboration with Imprint Beer Co.
The thick luscious base was conditioned on Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, Dominican cacao nibs, and toasted coconut. The adjuncts bring flavors of chocolate covered espresso beans, creamy toasted coconut, and ice cream.

The viscous molten chocolate lava black body suppresses its dark brown head for a good clip, which when it does appear fizzles out quickly to a tarry surface.
Smell is Oreo dirt cup while taste it far more strong and assertive, adding dark roasted coffee over the chocolatey malt and mild toasted coconut that itself seems to emulate cinnamon as it interacts with these elements. Very decadent, risking cloying.
Just as viscous as it looks, especially if you roll it around the palate, the carbonation attempts to bubble up but only thickens it like tapioca while coming to a slightly warming, tingly finish.
It's weird how cinnamony it seems. My partner even said she got banana bread.

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, double coconut, and Equadorian cacao nibs.
Oh baby! Poured cold to a tulip, it’s shiny oily black with a bunch of discernible coconut floaters. Nose is like you open a freshly fallen coconut on a beach, while you had some fresh JBM coffee brewing on a fire. First sips are INTENSE but smooth coffee, hearty, chewy coffee. Right behind that is INTENSE coconut, fresh, pulpy, sweet coconut. Throughout all that as an overlay is the cacao nib flavor…slightly acidic, with a chocolate liqueur presence. Mouthfeel is chewy and syrupy. It’s a prominent dark malt base with all the adjuncts clearly and deliciously present in their own rights. Alcohol is not biting, though there is a fair amount of warming, plus the chocolate liqueur aspect gives the insinuation of the 11% ABV.
I’d almost deduct some points somewhere if there was a BA version, just because that would probably be even better? LOL!
While it’s a thick, chewy, heavy, sweet stout, I don’t consider it a “dessert” type in that it’s not some s’mores, ice cream, tiramisu sort of flavor profiled attempt.

Outstanding! Grabbed a bottle at MB last summer, and held back a few months.
One of the very best I’ve had in this style. Beautiful dark pour with thin tan head. Hints of burnt orange/ cherry to light. Noticeable complex malty nose that intrigues. Taste is a full blast of evenly merged malts, coffee, nutty chocolate and restrained toasted coconut. Love the touch of coconut, but happy not dominating like so many coconut forward stouts these days. There’s a dry leathery note highlighting the brew, that melds nicely with the sweetness. It’s an amazingly rich unique complex flavor. Body is rich, chewy and velvety; yet ends in an unexpectedness dryness.
Overall a really pleasant surprise. Remain Delighted with Mortalis and now very interested in Imprint. Master crafting here! Excellent!
