This Imperial Stout showcases one of our favorite baked treats, coffee cake! The rich chocolaty base was aged 14 months in a Four Roses store pick barrel and then conditioned on loads of fresh locally baked cinnamon swirl coffee cakes. Pair with your favorite cup of Joe.

Pours a viscous, midnight-black body, with a delayed formation of mocha-hued sudsing prodding at the surface before fading to a blank void of a cap, with no collar and a bare-minimum distribution of lacing to spare.
Aroma burst through with fresh baked coffee cake and cinnamon red hots, with dark chocolate residuals phasing to burnt cinnamon as a quaint barrel char fades and soft milk chocolate notes linger.
Taste brings cinnamon spice and charry coffee cake upfront, leaving tones of dark cocoa subdued over the mid-palate as vanilla lingers against a minimal bourbon inflection into the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a full body and minimal carbonation, a silky density forming a largely creamy texture as a boozy prickle lingers through the mid-palate; a quiet warmth develops on a slick back end, retaining semi-sticky elements as the back end dries slightly into the finish.
Blunt with a deliberately nonexistent subtlety, the bakery-in-a-blender aspects move beyond direction to a purely sweet override of any semblance of nuance; the adjuncts become the beer, and while intermittently palatable, it's as a whole worse off for it.

Unmistakable little Debbie coffee cakes on the nose. Notes of vanilla bean, cinnamon, and fresh streusel.
Palate brings more of the same; distinctly more bitter on the palate from the spice, but it’s not overbearing and trails off quickly. 100% getting the mass-produced morning streusel vibes.
The barrel on this exhibits it’s influence primarily through the heat on the backend, but the bitterness imparted by the cinnamon really helps to bring out an oaky, almost tannic dryness. Also getting some notes of boozy burnt caramel.
Viscosity is spot on. Medium-heavy, exceptionally smooth. Low, almost non-present carb. Finishes lightly sticky, lightly bitter, very warming.
