tart ale with roses, real light and pale and drinkable for being acidic, clean in the right ways but not devoid of character, and subtle on the rose to me. no color at all from the flowers, this has a short white head from the tap and is a little thin, clear, and light yellow, looks like a light blonde or pils type. the nose is tangy but not aggressively sour, its floral and even distinctly rose to me, but not perfume forward like rose water can be, still some of the house yeast esters to me, but maybe subtle here, behind the lemony lacto, the flowers, and even the dry crackery grain, i think some wheat in the mix too. the flavor is sour before flower, but both are present the whole drink, its not overdone, but you also dont have to go looking for it, and i like the citrus character of the ferment bringing out the uniqueness of the rose in here. the beer overall is maybe slightly too acidic and a tad thin, a bit more grain structure would be cool, but its not their best carbonated beer, but this was draft and its their bottle conditioning that usually does it for me, do they package this one? might be even better in that format. cool use of the rose, and neat to have some more sour beers here, but i liked the oranjie a little better i think...
