On tap at brewery:
Swirled river water murky light brown. Tea-like, in a way. Large bubble soapy head lasts in counter to the iffy body, some lacing.
Nose isn’t bad, mainly because there’s not much of anything to it. With a huge smell, I got maybe the lightest vegetal to pithy hop - I’m not confident I wasn’t inventing it.
Taste opens with a light toast malt that has a near immediate citrus bitterness. A little tea-like up front, the lemony citrus bitter counter. The bitterness slowly grows, but doesn’t get too drying. The malt almost seems to regain to turn the whole this a little earthy by the end.
Not sure it’s that true to style, but has some aspects that are familiar. A nice, balanced beer that meets the bitter side of its name in the late and after tastes.
