Lots to like here.
First, it is a 12 ounce can; easier to carry and consume, particularly convenient in styles that go well with different foods... in case they don't go together.
Second, an interesting cosmopolitan concept for a saison; bred not in saison country, but in a suburb of Brussels; indicating to me that the saison's creative impulse is as much Belgian as it is Walloonian. (So why are they so disagreeable with each other?) Anyhow, I drank this with a pan-Asian/Pacific Poke bowl and it all seemed to fit. Enough fruit (including lichee) to work with all the raw veggies and rice to make me think I also was doing something good for myself. Then I went and ate a dessert involving Camembert. While Sichuan was still doing good, my fatty cheese was not.
Third, Witloof appears to be part of a cooperative brewing venture, CoHop, that I came across last Autumn several times and was impressed by their passion, talent and good business sense of sharing a brewery.
Fourth, Sichuan Looks like a saison; albeit only slightly above average as it could use a more active foam. It Smells fruity and fun. Tastes are balanced, just enough hops to soften the sweet. Light-mouthed.
I intend to find more from Witloof and CoHop while I am in Brussels.
