This German pilsner has a great earthy bitterness, hints of floral notes on the nose and flavor—but most importantly a crisp, sustaining hop presence. We’re really excited with how this beer finished.

No canning date (released on 3/8/22, so presumably canned within a few days of that date); consumed on 5/30/22
Pours a clear, dingy golden orange body capped with a half-finger sliver of fluffy, off-white foam; sub-par head retention leaves a paper-thin veil of cap, thin, frothy collar, and a generous spatter of webby lacing encircling the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to snappy, fresh bread with accents of lighter rye toast; wet hay develops a rustic undertone to clean, grassy hops on the back end, with soft florality lingering to slight minerality on the close.
Taste sees toasted rye bread and a softer bread crust undertone upfront feed into dry straw over a mid-palate becoming delicately bitter, with grassy hops on the back end and a distant honeysuckle note finishing.
Mouthfeel shows a light body with a lower-end fizz of carbonation quickly dispersing to slick, clean textures and a subtly encroaching grit over the mid-palate, guiding to an ultra-dryness on the back end and finishing with a wispy crispness.
A robust breadiness and spicy florality withstand a weaker body inconsistently textured/carbonated, leaving a refreshing punch of flavor with little foundation; well-expressed in intervals, this ultimately drinks like a promising yet incomplete German pilsner.
