Can dated 2/16
A refreshingly clear amber colored beer with a head that didn't show itself much on a decently aggressive pour. The nose has a fruity toasted malt profile - a nice malt-driven nose that also reminds me a bit of a Vienna lager except for a slightly unexpected light note of coffee.
The taste doesn't betray the nose, but the malt notes aren't as strong on the palate as they are to my olfactory sense. Toast with a bit of berry jam comes to mind, though as it warms, a bit of a citrus tea gets added to the mix. It's a fairly straightforward flavor, malt and clean bitterness to balance the whole thing. The feel is medium light and crisp, with a slightly above average carbonation, a little more aggressive than expected. But overall, a nice drinking beer for my tastes.
