16oz can, tulip, canned 2/15/22.
The color is very dark tea, almost a transparent liquid cocoa. It’s dark, but one can still see through it. The head is a lovely two finger stack of crema.
Dry, rye cracker, cocoa powder, and a little herbal bite.
Dryness is probably the defining characteristic of this here beer, though it does have a delightful combination of rich and refreshing. Dry, powdery, rye bread (the all rye kind), and that little herbal hop kick at the end.
Light body, high carbonation, and just a really crisp edge.
Vibrissa is quite good at lagers and I hope they continue to play around with them to delicious effect.

Could be a Schwartzbier or could be a Euro Dark Lager. Hollar is on UnTappd as a Dark Lager (just released @37 check-ins.)
Hollar is semi-dry and semi-roasted like a Schwartzbier, but it does not have the style's rich body... hence Hollar also could fall into the Dark Lager rubric. For now, I go with what we got. Because like both styles, Hollar is refreshing when it is cold out and gently warming at the same time.
In the meantime, I have to say how impressed I am by this 4 year old brewer. In what seems like want would be accomplished by an eight year old micro, Vibrissa in 4 years has built two taprooms, serves food, has the beginning of an excellent website and can even promote the Shenandoah; encouraging walks through those famous leaves and valleys. That's a pretty good start in life.
