As one of my top three beer styles, if it's on tap, I try it. I'm very skeptical of Americanized versions of this complex and wild style from Bavaria, France and Belgium.
Everything here seems very traditional. The look, the fruity esters and complex earthy, funky notes from wild edged yeast to grainy hops. Often dry and earthy, old world hops bring that subtle charm. Box car is pretty much right on, including a rather earthy-funk based flavored yeast, opposed to the more common fruity-banana tinted Americanized yeast strains used in most "Farmhouse" or Saisons available.
Easy drinking, as it's meant to be but also worth sippin' slow.
