another close to undrinkable beer here, with that same chemical and phenolic character that plagued their ipa and their porter. if it is from a too hot ale yeast fermentation, im not sure why it would be in the lager, but it is, albeit to a lesser degree than in their others. if i had gotten this one first, i might have overlooked it a little bit, been able to drink the whole beer, but after how intense it was in their ipa, i couldnt look away from it in here, impossible to ignore, flawed beer and i really dont know why. too bad too, because like their others, the idea and the basic construction are promising. this has new york state grain and hops in it, is light without being watery, and has a little more hoppiness to it than most, very fresh and citrus forward, but its the fermentation profile that ruins it again. i have to hope they just had a couple of bad batched on when we were in and are getting things figured out. i will check back in next summer and find out, but this was really disappointing, they all were this time around in here...
