The stein is getting some use here! Pours as expected, an amber tan with fantastic foam. The aroma hits all the right notes, with a kiss of sticky hop and a caramel malt finish.

Canned on 9/15/22; consumed on 12/6/22
Pours a vaguely translucent amber-mahogany body capped with a finger and a half of creamy, pale beige foam; decent head retention leaves a slim layer of cap, moderate, frothy collar, and a multitude of soapy, webby lacing strewn along the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to richer caramels eased with lager yeast and a slight, mineralic backing building to a toasty expression captured through rye bread dough and fresh bread crusts.
Taste opens to a pert minerality into lager yeast, with rye dough evolving with a pseudo-caramel earthiness over the mid-palate toward more established notes of brown toast and lightly burnt crusts on the back end.
Mouthfeel offers a light body and a rounded, moderate-high carbonation, easing a steady fluff to predominantly clean textures while an underlying wispy grit over the mid-palate peaks to a refreshing dryness to a refined finish.
A robust display of toasted malts spark level sweetness against a prickly rye grain, trending heavier though ultimately balanced by airier minerality and a clean lager inflection; a consistent Märzen imposing a restrained depth.

Dark amber color. Nose is malty. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied. Flavor profile is sweet and toasty. More biscuity than bready. A little too sweet on the finish. Not getting much caramel notes either. A little heavier than your traditional Marzen. This is like taking a standard blues lick and adding a local cultural element to it. Drinkable and very much enjoyable.
