Poured from the crowler into a tulip glass. Filled November 6th 2018.
Pale and mostly clear, a body color somewhat of bright lemon yellow with fair amounts of carbonation, and a good middle column of rising bubbles in the center. Soapy to lathery rich bright white head. Solid easy making two to three fingers, with a shampoo like retention.
Aroma goes for more Belgian than specific hop character. Slight touches of powder like milled flour. Chewy malt sensing base, with a touch of small sucrose. Comes off on the nose more of a standard Belgian pale ale than a saison.
Palate makes some interesting in roads. Very juiced body feel and flavor. Touches a bit tropical, with a fruity hop quality almost mango like. Light touches of earth on the finish with more tropical pleasantries and a bit of light sugar. Hints slightly dry but not totally on the finish and just a hair wet. Light bodied but with a bit fuller flavor.
This reminds me more of a pattersbier or table beer than a saison, not even quite grisette either. Still pretty good, with a neat hop profile that makes for a good twist.
