Barrel-aged imperial stout aged in rye barrels, conditioned on peanut butter, marshmallow, Ugandan cacao nibs, and Madagascar vanilla. ⁣

Insane chocolate on the nose and palate, silken vanilla, and a hint of gooey, peanut butter-vanilla sweetness

2021 vintage; released on 2/21/21, so presumably bottled within a few days of that date

Pours a thick, oily, jet-black body producing no head whatsoever and little perceptible activity beyond the inky depths aside from a razor-thin, pale mocha collar forming temporarily around the surface; vague, stringy legs are left running down the walls of the glass.

Aroma brings pillowy, creamy peanut butter to meet bittersweet cacao at the forefront of the bouquet, sporting peanut wafer accents and minimal barrel presence; building undertones of fresh marshmallow slowly seep through a malt profile saturated in chocolatey, nutty sweetness over time, while an intermittent tinge of almost floral vanilla cream closes.

Taste opens with dry barrel and dark chocolate, with a distant dark fruit/red berry tone fading against an encroaching vanillin; silky peanut butter flows across the mid-palate, followed by peanut wafer accents, milk chocolate, wisps of roast into the back end, with charry chocolate syrup sneaking through the finish.

Mouthfeel offers a full body and an expectedly minimal carbonation, with a tinge of barrel spice and textures meandering from steadily silky to a creamy decadence toward the mid-palate; only a distant roast offering a glimmer of balance into the back end, though shows some mild, oily characteristics over time enabling a sticky finish.

Wavers in complexity, dancing between an evolving richness and more simplistic, muddied dessert stout presentation; peanut butter is pronounced in flavor but minimized in effect by the marshmallow/vanilla combo, with little barrel presence to accentuate a base beyond the adjuncts; overall a solid sweet stout, though struggles to accentuate any of its louder flavors, thus becoming somewhat muddled over time.

Poured a black body with minimal khaki head and lace down glass. The aroma has notes of chocolate and mild nuttiness with touches of vanilla. Slick, medium body with touch of peanut butter sweetness along with nutty dryness. Beer also has a chocolate syrup and vanilla sweetness along with touch of marshmallow fluff. Booze is well-hidden and has great balance.
