I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: rich amber hue with a moderate haze and a thick finger of creamy ivory foam which leaves a very nice lace on the glass. I find it quite attractive.
Smell: light but well-composed; there's a hint of the tartness to come and just a hint of fruitiness. I like it.
Taste: tart right up front with a big astringent, woody character. There's a moderate sweetness and not much fruitiness here. Good indeed, but it lacks the fruity character I like in the style.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess. Not too bad.
Overall: usually I like woodiness in a beer, but in this case it's a bit on the strong side. The astringent quality doesn't complement the tartness as well as it could, I would say. Still, the tartness is on-point and tasty.
