Hazy golden yellow with a tall stiff cap of foam in the little Gulpener tulip. Pleasant aroma of straw, yeast, and a whiff of lime. Fizzy mouthful that settles down to a faint prickle.
Dry and fairly austere. There is some malty flavor but just a touch of sweetness. There is some grain but it seems like more hay flavor. A ghost of dry pear taste. Quite yeasty and long-lasting bitter aftertaste. From the 375 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham. Lots of sediment in the bottom.
