Pours a light straw gold with a massive, out-of-control head that dissipates very slowly.
The aroma is yeasty, with some grassy and herbal notes. A little black pepper in the background.
Taste follows. Lovely yeasty/bready quality to the sip. Some of that peppery quality in the nose transfers to the mouth. The slightest hint of tartness.
Lighter body. Refreshing.
This is a solid Grisette. A great style I don’t get a chance to drink enough of.

Clear golden amber brew with plenty of foam in the Kasteel chalice. Quite yeasty after some sipping, especially with the lower ABV and less malt. Tangy but not sour. Grainy and peppery. Very dry finish. Highly drinkable and something different in the low hop range, as long as you like that strong Belgian yeasty flavor. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 05/31/2022 just under the rim.

these guys are up there with revision now for me when i go to the beer store, if i see new cans, i buy them, no questions asked, they have rocked everything out so hard that ive had so far, the prices are fair, and they continue to get super fresh beer into the market here, i always look forward to their stuff. its the ipa types in the cans that have stood out most of late, but this fermentation forward grisette is nice too, seemingly with a multigrain base and a little tartness, very much a french saison yeast profile to me, vinous and clean and drying, lightly floral with a little citric tartness in the background, but not as wild or funky as i think the best examples of the style are, but very drinkable and nice as a change of pace. maybe some rye in this slightly hazy dull yellow brew, delicate looking still though, sediment settles a bit in the can, great airy white head on it high and wispy with fine retention, looks the part. light peppery character, white wine, raw wheat, rising dough, and dried grass, old worldy and simple really. i wish there was just a little more funk to it to set it apart, but there is no denying the execution is again solid from these guys. i was hoping for a little more rustic character here, but the beer is bright and drinkable, estery and fruity, and scratches the light saison sort of hot weather beer itch.

A grisette, but that's not a category on BA.
