A: The beer is very hazy caramel in color and looks like apple cider. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that has very good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Light aromas of oak and red currants are present in the nose along with notes of funk.
T: The taste has stronger flavors of red currants with notes of oak, the latter of which linger into the finish. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a lot fruitier compared to other beers in the style and does an excellent job at masking any traces of alcohol from the taste.

Dark red color body
Nose is heavy cherries coming in, funk, Kriek alike.
Taste had medium acidity, medium fruitiness, light sweetness.
Full bodied moutfell with slight warmth in throat, very very nice mouthfell for a Kriek alike beer.
Very interesting beer, I didn't expect a thick mouthfeel in an American Wild Ale like this one.

375ml corked/caged bottle served in a little Cantillon glass. Batch number 1 (the number looks handwritten).
Pours a deep reddish brown with a head that started out small and seems to be growing with time. Tons of carbonation. Smell is very nice -- fruity and tart. I wouldn't guess currants.
Taste is very tart -- also surprisingly bitter. Very dry. Interesting and tasty.
Mouthfeel is super dry, light. A little pucker. Overall, very good beer.

12.68oz corked and caged bottle purchased at Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards, Spokane, WA, for $11.99. According to the label, it's from Batch No. 1. My first bottled beer from E9., although I've had some of their beers at the brewery in Tacoma.
Poured into a St.Bernardus chalice, this was a hazy russett color, taking on a more rubyish hue when held directly to light. Big, beige colored head, with lots of lace.
Fruity and funky nose, in that order. The label doesn't declare Brett was used, but I'd be willing to bet it was.
The red currants lead the charge, but the fruit flavors are quickly followed by a lightly funky tartness. Dry at the swallow. Really well balanced.
Fairly thin, light body, that manages to seem crisp and slightly effervescent at the same time.
I don't know what the base beer is. The description on the label just says "barrel aged Belgian style ale with red currants." I made an executive decision to call it a Belgian Strong Pale Ale because, while not exactly pale in color, it perhaps gets it's color from the fruit. This was a nice, early afternoon pre-funk beer before some St Patrick's Day debauchery and some attempted Gonzaga b-ball watching.. Dry enough to be beguiling, yet still a fair amount of fruity sweetness. Extremely well balanced, with just the right amount of carbonation and body. Alcohol extremely well hid. I will buy this again.
