well made, they all are from these guys, but this one was not my favorite of all the wonderful stuff we had from them last week, and frankly does not really rank for me among their best hoppy beers either, its a little harsh, not green, but on the edge of being a little overdone, and as well refined as it is objectively speaking, its fairly aggressive while at the same time not being particularly interesting. this sounds harsh, and this would indeed be a great release from a lot of other breweries, but these guys have established a really high standard for their ipa types, so i wanted more from this, or maybe less, or a combination of both, if that makes sense. just a little haze to this, mostly clear, pale yellow golden colored, looks good in the glass. it smells citrusy but in a slightly sharp way, and a bit generic to me too, not sure what the hops are. pine sap, sticky weed, and concentrated orange to me in the flavor, clean on the ferment, minimal on the grain side, the hops are both too much in terms of intensity, and not enough in terms of being interesting, at the same time. good carbonation, seems fuller bodied than it is though with the hop linger, and it gets even more intense as it warms. perhaps my pallet was a little off from drinking some of their wild stuff before this, so i will revisit it if the cans show up in idaho, but this didnt impress me the way their hoppy beers usually do. the quality is there, but the recipe didnt move me this time...

16oz can served in a big snifter. Friend left it at my house last night. No date on the can.

Pours clear amber-gold with a medium to small head and medium to low active carbonation. Smell is melon and bubble gum, some lemony resin.

Taste is following the aroma -- melon and bubble gum, some lemony resin, but a with a very west coast lean toward bitterness -- nice, assertive, resinous bitterness.

Mouthfeel is light, clean, crisp. Overall, very happy with this beer today.
