Clear amber brew with abundant foam in the goblet. Aroma of bread and the noble hop greenery. Light yet malty with sourdough bread and a touch of grapes. Some pleasant lemony notes and a bitter aftertaste. More bitter than it needs to be for such a light beer. It's more of a Pilsner in that regard. Overall, though it is quite quaffable with a mouthfilling body and carbonation. From the 16 oz can purchased at the Community Co-op market. Not dated.

simple clear blonde lager here done with palisade hops as a single hop, really simple but clean, well made and remarkably nuanced for being as sort of basic as it is from a recipe construction standpoint. it looks like a helles in the glas, golden shiny and clear, with a decent white head on it, carbonation rising up, a real brightness. the nose is herbal from the hops, hints of preserved lemon and tea to me, but subtle, there is a cool freshness to it, some apparent hop bitterness, and a dry bready pale cereal malt base, highly refined, some minerals in the mix too. the flavor is in line with the nose, herbal more than fruity on the hops, and not as boldly dosed as i think i expected, palisade in this context is somewhat uncommon, i perhaps was hoping to learn a little more about it in this beer, experience a bit more of its punch, but its pretty softly dosed to me, and ends up more finishing bitterness than any identifying aromas or flavors, not totally, but mostly. there is good balance and freshness here though, i like the biscuity malt here too, also real fresh, and the whole thing is light without being too light, moved along by brisk carbonation, slightly crackery, european pils-esque overall to me, and the palisade has some noble properties as it warms, adding to that. overall real drinkable and well made, but not as distinct as i wanted it to be. another high quality lager from these guys though...
