With this crispy crisp boiiiii we used a new Experimental Hops from CLS FARMS number YQH1320 with Alpha Acids from 8-9% and some really strong agronomics. Sensory on this hop has come up with notes of Lime, White Peach, Pineapple, with slight hints of Guava and Orange Zest. We followed this up with some of our Estate Grown Bangin Comet Hops with zesty grapefruit & tangerine. You know we had to make this beer with the finest Weyermann Barke Pilsner to give a nice snap rich pop at every sip you take and some carmilizational help from a splash of Maris Otter. Fill it up in your tall glass and crush this pupper. Get the HEXE! "I am the Witch, Who controls your movements, Makes time stand still, Pinned upon the crucifix!"

had way higher hopes for this, the first new one from these guys i have seen in awhile after an insane pace of new stuff for some time, i like all they do but this one fell a little flat for me, perhaps in part because of all the heady beers we were drinking in the same session, but also it just doesnt seem fresh, doesnt quite live up to the standard i have for their beer in my head, and isnt really as interesting as i thought it would be with the experimental hops in it, and more malty and less crushable, bright, and refreshing than anticipated too, not poor beer, not at all, but a little misleading i think. a little darker in color, short of copper but definitely not golden, airy white head from the can, clear, looks good. the nose is a little oxidized and so the hop uniqueness i was hoping for is obscured some, light cardboard, biscuit malt, bread crusts, and graham crackers, bitter it seems too, lightly european, mineral forward, strange. the flavor is similar, a little tired to me which is a shame, some real hop fade evident, cooked sugar sweetness, plain bagel, light watermelon rind and bitter orange. its got some body, some lasting bitterness, maltiness, and minerality on the tongue, and overall seems past its moment a bit, but also an odd mix of ingredients and flavors, like too malty to showcase unique hops, too bitter to be grain forward, and obviously fading fast. would be open to revisiting this at some point, certainly still interested in these hops, and trust this brewery unequivocally no matter what, but this, in this instance, is not one of their stronger offerings. almost trying to be too many things at once...
