Pours a clear brown color and appears nearly opaque in the glass; thick, long-lasting pale khaki head, loosely sudsy texture. Great nose; lightly roasted grains and toffee tones predominate. Very good taste; mild milk chocolate overall; delicate grain char; subtle bitterness. Medium bodied; smooth and slick on the palate.
This is a very tasty and easy drinking dark lager, balanced with just enough depth and complexity to take this beer a step above most other black lagers.
ABV: 4.8%; pouring temperature: 47.7 ℉; canning info: 26 APR (assumed 2025)

Dark amber brown brew with plenty of beige foam in the snifter. Modest roasty aroma with a hint of butter. Mellow and spritzy on the tongue with a slight sweetness. Slushy mouthfeel. Dark bunt notes and the classic Schwarz dark taste, like a charred Vienna Lager. Overall it's quite drinkable and better than average Schwarzbiers in my experience. From the 16 oz can purchased at Town & Country in Shoreline. Canned the week of April 25, 2025.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date that I can see on the can.
Appearance: medium-dark brown hue with what appears to be a decent haze and a thick head of frothy light-tan foam.
Smell: a kind of nutty, toasty maltiness with some chocolate notes, alongside a bit of yeastiness. Kind of reminds me more of a brown ale than a schwarzbier, although the yeastiness does bring me back into schwarzbier territory. I like it well enough, but it lacks, I don’t know, balance or something.
Taste: similar notes as in the aroma: more of a brown ale than a schwarzbier vibe. Not that there’s anything intrinsically wrong with that, but there’s a crispness or something that is lacking here for me. It has good flavors, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like it could be cleaner.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess for the style.
Overall: this isn’t a bad beer at all, but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for in a schwarzbier.

16oz can served in a curvey Fremont glass. Can't find a date on the can.
Pours black with a light tan head, medium carbonation, OK retention. Smell is roasty. Lots of roasty. Burnt toast, charred grain.
Taste is also very roasty -- not burnt, but coffee and anise, moderate molasses sweetness.
Mouthfeel is light and clean. Overall, this is a really nice beer.
