Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 4/30/24. They call this a “West Coast Pils”; it doesn’t really fall into any actual Pilsner category; maybe it’s even better classified as an India Pale Lager / Cold IPA. But hey, what is style even, anyway? This is a collab with Whistle Punk in Spokane.
Appearance: medium-light golden hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: lightly sweet malt with a dash of graininess and a hint of tropical/citrus hops. Nice, but understated.
Taste: shazam! A nice maltiness that is light, if not exactly crisp, and just a lovely potpourri of hop flavors including passionfruit, pineapple, lemon, and a nice grassiness. It’s not at all like a juicy IPA, but just a subtle and lovely hop combo.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is a damn fine hoppy lager. Really well done.
