Next on the review desk is a double IPA from Palisades. I was making a quick stop here to gather some goodies for my friends back home. The brewery is always bustling with chatter. After I grabbed a case of beer that never drunk, I continued home. This has been sitting in my fridge for a month and a half; it has no date, but from what I was told, it was fresh when I purchased it. I pulled out my IPA glass and served it at around 46 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, off-white two-fingered head with excellent retention. It dissipated gradually, leaving lots of lacing on the glass. It has always fascinated me to see how differently beers dissipate; this one left a lot of lacing. Looking the beer up to the light, I see the clarity with carbonation. I will chart the beer around SRM 4 pale straw with golden hues. The overall appearance is, judging by the style guidelines; it is above average.
Nosing the glass, I smell pine, orange, grapefruit, floral, malty sweetness, bread, herbal, and grass. A typical IPA; however, the aromas are not as bright as expected.
The flavors are bread, dank, grass, malty sweetness, herbal, grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, mango, and pine resin.
The mouthfeel is slick and slightly astringent, finishing crisp and dry.
The beer has a firm malty sweet backbone that hides the hops. As I sip this more, I am picking up the alcohol. I expected more from this beer, brighter hops and astringency—good beer, nonetheless, just no Pliny the Elder or Lunch.

12 ounce ice cold can into a wine chalice. (My son brought it to me from the brewery in Pallisade, CO, near Grand Junction.)
Pours amber-gold with generous foam that drew laces all the way down the glass. Fresh fresh fresh!
Smell is a walk through a high mountain desert in early fall. It’s pine needles and earth. It’s malty and bitter. Slightly sweet, chewy, satisfying finish that made me pick the can back up to discover who made this beauty.
Feel is, as noted by another review, like a DFH 90 Minute IPA in viscosity - but it has ‘another thang’ going on. Small local brewery makes great beer thang.
Overall - I’d drink these mfkrs every day if they were available here in SoFlo. Nice nice DIPA!

I need to take a class where I can learn all the taste words. Here is what I think 3/4 into my first can: delicious. Reminds me of two beers, my favorite beer of all-time Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewery, and 90 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head. It is that good? More seasoned, better hyperbole reviewers need to weigh in. My feeling this is World Class Beer, rich, and flavorful. 8% alcohol, but I can't taste the alcohol. I live in Grand Junction, not many miles from the Palisade Brewery, and am completely happy to be able to drink a great beer brewed locally. Cheers!

Pours a very cloudy amber color with a thin foamy head. Head retention good. Lacing is very good. Earthy aroma. Floral with pine and mild citrus. Much more citrus on the taste. Very smooth. Grapefruit and pine. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Light copper in color. Smells absolutely dank, earthy, herbal and weedy. It's like hops put in the kettle minutes after it was pulled from the land. The flavors were okay though. Hops were a little muted. It was very earthy and herbal. Aftertaste were of wet hops. However I give this beer full credit for the aroma. Outstanding!
