I was excited to buy this Saison (my favourite style by far), but somewhat disappointed to drink it.
Circus' Saison (good alliteration) has decent Looks with sufficient foam that sticks around long enough. However, Smells are only slightly above average as I mostly get nondescript fruit. In the Taste, hops do assert themselves later and the brew becomes balanced; but again, a lazy yeast makes for an average saison. And this one in the finish cloys a bit instead of cleansing the palate. Light, not medium mouthed.
Circus seems young, with only several years brewing; but seems to have made it thru Covid. They do not have lots of exposure to BA drinkers. And their taproom is only open two days, three in the summer. They have an attractive website, but it says little about what distinguishes Circus from the many other Flemish brewers.
