Thanks hophound!
Pours a deep mahogany with shimmers of garnet on the edges. Sandy fluff starts off confidently and then settles down to a thin film. Good retention, clumpy lacing.
Nose abounds with toffee, brown sugar, date, toasty caramel, and more subtle notes of brown bread and smoke.
Flavors follow the nose but the sweeter components are definitely the star. The hops chime in with a smooth, nubile spicy bitter hint.
Mouthfeel is lush and full.

Dark yet clear mahogany color, clear brown pour, reddish looking in the glass; fat and dense carbonation; thick, frothy head, very light tan hue, sticky. Outstanding aroma; roasted grains with an earthy sweetness; caramel; very delicate smokiness. The flavor follows along the lines of the aroma; rich malt flavors; some light spiciness; brown sugar; quiet phenol notes in the background. Heavy body; smooth and lush mouthfeel; semi-sweet character.
This is a beautifully rich and robust beer, very malt forward yet balanced with a hint of smoke and some slight spiciness to round things out.
Pouring temperature: 54 °F; canning info: CANNED ON 02/09/24

Taster at Beaverton taproom. Dark brown pour, clear, fine ring of off-white head. Malty aroma, peat, light sweetness. Taste is peaty, earthy, malty, sweet. Mouth coating and a drying finish. Really tasty.

Rich, strong, and dark. Pours a deep reddish brown with plenty of foam in the Wander snifter. Nose of grain and fruitcake. Dark caramel with roasted malt dominating. HInt of hoppy bitterness.
Moderately sweet with brown sugar taste but not much burnt. Maybe a hint of smoke. Lush carbonation. A little burnt sugar in the aftertaste along with a slight bitterness. This is a robust Scotch Ale that is quite drinkable. From the 16 oz can purchased at Whidbey Beer works.

Can from Market of Choice.
A very dark brown with a dense, beige head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is nice and rich and malty, a blend of toffee, brown sugar, mild butterscotch, a nice melanoidin richness. A mild earthy bitterness along with some grainy husk. The palate opens sweet nd rich with dark brown sugar, a touch of sticky toffee, a really rich dark bread character, mildly sweet. A little sweet on the finish, with lingering brown sugar and toffee. A touch of smoke is also present. Medium in body, softly carbonated, this is solidly executed.

Dark tan pour, thin head, faint smoky aroma. Taste is smoked malt, through and through. Moderate bitterness, enough to keep it well on-style and interesting. Good body, a little on the thin side. Definitely a sipper on a cold rainy evening down at the local with a peat fire in the corner by the bar.

Look: Dark ruby-red to brown, looking almost black in the glass, and my aggressive pour yields a substantial light tan head that slowly settles leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly baked brown bread, peat-smoked barley, toffee, melanoidin, earthiness, and a very light but present dried dark fruit note
Taste: Follows the nose well. A huge bombardment of brown bread, smoked peat, toffee, and earthiness kick things off and hold some before being joined by rich toffee and some dried dark fruit notes. More smoked barley and bread return and lead to the finish, where smoke and toffee sweetness have the final word
Mouthfeel: Full, very smooth throughout, medium-high carbonation, and extremely smooth and soft on the finish
Overall: This is delicious stuff. I love this style and feel this example is not only tasty, but checks all the boxes and at the right levels for a Scotch for me. A great integration of deep bready malt, a kiss of smoke, toffee sweetness, earthiness, and dried dark fruit that isn’t overpowering. I could and will way too easily drink more of these. Recommended

4 x 16 oz. pack purchased from Roth's West Salem Market. Salem OR
$14
This is another of the New Mexico brewed beers..had good luck so far with those..so here goes!
Pours a gorgeous fiery amber coloured body with a handsome thick and frothy light tan head.
Nice bready malty aromas..some Scots tablet ( a hard fudge like sweetie), molasses, slight milky coffee and a slightest bit of peat?
Taste has all of the aroma..plus a nice fruitiness..blackberry? Spain slightest trace of peat..or maybe my mind makes me think that?
Mouth feel is fine for style.medium body..medium low carbonation..slight acrid finish ( peat?)
A very nice Scotch/Scottish Ale.

A pretty beer. Dark brown with red highlights. Small off-white head, some lace.
Aroma of caramel and molasses.
Ditto for the taste. There was some late hop bitterness.
A beer to be sipped in front of a fire, which is exactly what I'm doing.
