Received from @lordofthweins. Canned on 8/15/2022. Poured into a Seidel. It pours an attractive, clear, honey-copper color with two full fingers of fluffy, ecru-colored head and spotty lacy. It's quite effervescent. The smell has everything I'd want: brown bread, caramel, spices, and just a whiff of chocolate. Its taste is a good balance of caramel malt and dry, earthy, nutty bitterness. The mouth feel is crisp and medium-bodied with fairly lively carbonation, and the 5.8% ABV allows for easy drinking. Overall, German Overalls is a fine Märzen but it lacks the depth of flavor of some of my favorites of the style.

Revisited September 15th, 2024

Dark amber and clear body; modest carbonation; thick head, white and frothy; Fine toasted grain and caramel nose. Light roasted grain flavor; caramel maltiness; roasted nuts; mild hop bitterness. Medium body; smooth and warm on the palate.

This beer impresses me more than it did a few years ago. More malt-forward and hop balanced for the style with none of the apple juice qualities that hit me back in 2021.

Clear, dark copper body: almost no head, a few sparse patches of foam. An interesting light malt nose with a healthy presence of fruity esters; apple juice.; Sweet taste, not cloying; slight malty note; spicy apple juice. Medium body; slick and smooth.

An interesting märzen but not one that moves me.

Clear amber color with a one-inch white head
Caramel aroma, some floral hops.
Caramel taste, late hint of hops
Medium mouthfeel. A little sweeter than I would like.
