Picked this up when I spent the day at Pondaseta last year, as I passed through Amarillo on my way back home from the left coast. Loved the vibe here and somehow, I fell in love with this beer too as it was a textbook example of what an American Light Lager should be!
Bright and straw in hue, this was topped off with plenty of full foam as it took quite a while to settle down. Plenty of layered suds remained in my glass as a well-defined ring in the center of my glass bled down nicely to the one below. Although this had rice and corn like any Adjunct Lager, the aroma was like that of the Texas Prairie - grass, tall grass, and wheat were to be found in the muted aroma as the taste was so smooth, easygoing, and enjoyable that it was perfectly fitting for the Lone Star State. Softly floral, lightly mineral, and just malty enough, this was completely unassuming and finished crisp as it left a lovely slickness on the palate that easily left me begging for another can.
Too bad I polished those off on my way home from Texas as this had to be the perfectly crushable beer for the road, or for a warm night such as this. The only thing missing from this beer was a date although it held up well since it felt fresh, lively, and lacking in any skunk or sediment upon reviewing. More beers need to be like this as it's hard to imagine anyone not being better off for having this. Props to Pondaseta for giving me a reason to seek something on par with this lovely offering!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
