Formerly known as Saison Vol. 2.

Hop Barn is a continuation of our Maine Grain Saison Vol. 1. This beer is made with Cascade hops grown exclusively at our farm. It is a hop forward beer with a classic Saison spice.

500 ml bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy yellow color with 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Leaves a beautiful crown of lacing as the head settles into a thin sheet. Some bits of sediment can be seen floating about.

The aroma is doughy and spicy, with plenty of grassiness. Lots of yeast character, with notes of bubblegum and clove.

The flavor is sweet and yeasty up front, bringing notes of sweet dough, clove, banana and bubblegum. Then comes a wave of peppery spice and earthy hops. Very rustic.

The feel is light bodied with good carbonation. Crisp and extremely dry. Drinkable as hell.

Overall, this is another great farmhouse ale from this brewery. It's well-hopped as the name suggests, but not overly so. Very drinkable and accessible.

Look - pale gold, lots of head that settles into island-like and artful lacing

Smell - smells "fresh"

Taste - the star of the show. Delicately sweet but not overly so, there might be a hint of tartness balancing things out a bit. A tad bit of bubble gum yeast going on too, but again, not enough to take over.

Feel - medium. Carbonation just right.

Overall - a great saison. Highly impressed with my first beer from this new organic Maine brewery. Look forward to trying more.
