500 ml bottle into a stemmed tulip because I'm fancy af.
Pours a hazy straw color with 2 fingers of sudsy white head. Great retention with some splotchy lacing. The head ultimately settles into a thin sheet.
Belgian yeast dominates the aroma here. Lots of fruity esters and clove with some fresh bananas and a touch of pear. There's a strong, peppery spice note as well as a musty, woody aroma. Very rustic and earthy, but sweet and balanced.
The flavor follows the nose: Doughy and yeasty up front, bringing strong notes of clove and banana, as well as some cracked pepper spice and wood chips. Surprisingly fruity on the finish, with notes of pears, granny smith apples and fresh lemons.
The feel is light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Nicely crisp and dry.
Overall, this is an excellent farmhouse ale. The flavors and aromas are simple in theory, but complex in execution. Drinkable as hell.
