This unfiltered lager was brewed with premium German malts and received several late hop additions in the whirlpool with our favorite New Zealand hop varietal.

Side pour at brewery. Crystal clear gold with a big glass bite head from side pour. Wonderful floral nose from dry hopping. Crisp clean taste with a bit of citrus. An excellent beer.

Picked this up late last year, although I can’t quite remember where. Love Source’s offerings and once again, this hit the nail on the head for it’s style as this was quite easy to enjoy. Additionally, this was in a big can and because the alcohol was so recessed, it felt like a bonus to get those extra few ounces!
No surprise that this poured golden and bright with plenty of head to top it off. That took a while to settle down as the lacing left behind was in the form of a few thick and wavy semblances of rings along the top half of my glass. Grain, spicy bread, and lemon were in the nose as a bit of tangy citrus, soap, and grass emerged in the taste. Quite crisp like a potato chip, this certainly had a dry-hopped aftertaste that felt quite German and refreshing without being too light. A chaser of water was needed to get this fully down as the flavor was quite long-lasting!
Easy to quaff a few of these, regardless of the time of year or how warm it was outside. Canned on 12/6 with "CHUR BRO" written underneath that, this was a lovely take on the style that was European in origin but American in realization. Lots to like here, down to the outdoorsy label that made me want to take this on my next mountain excursion!

On-tap @ Source Farmhouse Brewery in Colts Neck, NJ.
16 oz pour into a tall pilsner glass.
Straw colored with brilliant clarity. Creamy white head, good retention, sticky lacing.
Biscuity and grainy malt aroma. Pine, grass, pear and lemon citrus hops.
Firm bitterness in the finish with a long aftertaste. Medium bodied and dry with a clean yet thick feel to it.
Overall, a snappy and bitter pilsner that encourages repeat drinking. I'm usually a bigger fan of Helles lagers but I enjoyed this more than Source's Helles.
