No surprise that a farmhouse brewery would brew a beer of this style and make it seem so effortlessly easy to enjoy, but that's what this was as I sipped it during our first major snowfall of this year. No, this wasn't overly strong or spicy, but it was true to form and like nearly all of their other offerings, nicely crafted.
Of course, this was cloudy and golden in hue with a full, bubbly head that topped this off like champagne. Given the fine, yeasty aroma and hints of white wine, that was appropriate as the suds left behind on my pint glass were quite layered and deep. The lemon, spice, grain, and citrus tang in the taste ensured that this was a beer as this was plenty full, varied, and sticky on my lips with just a hint of funk, gooseberry, and white grape in the aftertaste to round things out.
Booze? It's here and it emerged a bit once this fully warmed up although it never came close to overpowering the taste. Dated 12/7 on the bottom of the can with "BLAZE ON SAISON" written below it, this was juicy and laid back to the point where it would win anyone over to the style. The label was also on par with what I've come to expect from these guys but thankfully, the liquid on the inside was perfect for this time of year, which showed how timeless a truly great beer can be.
