Picked this up recently at Joe Canal's as this was released from Source a few weeks before I made it down there. Given that they emphasize the farmhouse nature of their beers, this was right up their alley as it was a wonderful Saison that was easy to drink, unique, and completely enjoyable from start to finish!
Of course, this had a cloudy hue to it as it was plenty gold and topped off with a full, flat, and long-lasting head. Very little lacing was left behind as only a few scattered dots remained on my pint glass. Lots of barley, spelt, and white grape in the nose as the taste has a nice amount of yeast, bread, straw, strawberry patch, and dank berry in it. As was the case with most of Source's offerings, this improved nicely as it got warmer as it was full-bodied, slick, and fun to drink. A lively carbonation and nice sour tone in the back rounded out the taste as there was a slight stickiness left on my palate and lips once I finished this off!
The alcohol was hardly noticeable although I did need a chaser of water to wash down the rustic feel that lingered well after my last sip. Dated 2/22 on the bottom of the can with "COMPLETENESS & SELF UNITY" written below it, the message was on par with the intricate label that was fitting for this brewery. Without being too yeasty or spicy, this was a lovely Saison that was well-crafted, to the point where it could win a few people over to the style. Once again, Source has a winner on it's hands with this perfect offering for spring!
