Packaged 06/03/2024. poured a 473ml into a pint glass. A one finger fine white head on a hazy dark lemon. The head diminishes to a layer.

Bready, grainy malt smells. The taste follows the nose. fresh, fruity. Some citrus notes.

Medium light body. Low carbonation. Overall a solid Kellerbier. Well worth a try.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 15 2023 and served slightly chilled. Described as a "Franconian / Southern German Style Lager".

Pours relatively clear, its pale straw-yellow body capped with one finger of soapy, foamy white head that melts away within a minute or two. A tight collar lives on, with a few filmy wisps on the surface, as well as some scattered blotches of lace - looks alright. The aroma is straightforward yet enticing, comprised of wholesome wheat cereal, freshly baked bread and an understated hop earthiness; just a hint of orchard fruit.

Tasty stuff - the malt bill stands out as particularly solid; bready, grainy and a little biscuity, with hints of apple skin. Restrained German hop notes develop on the back end, adding a hint of grassy, earthy bitterness to the mix. Malty, biscuity conclusion followed by an off-dry aftertaste that has me ready for the next sip. Light-medium in body, with low carbonation that rolls softly along the tongue, contributing to this brew's exceptionally smooth, soft mouthfeel. A little strong for a session option, but highly drinkable nonetheless.

Final Grade: 3.85, a B+. Lagerbier is the first Wave Maker product I've had the chance to try, and I'm pretty happy with it. As a Franconian lager and/or kellerbier, it's a decent Canadian approximation of the real thing - keeping in mind, I am not at all an expert in this instance, as I have reviewed only a handful of kellers in the past. The malt flavours were fantastic, though this brew's tepid mouthfeel and wallflower hop profile drag it down to some extent. I really liked this beer, and would encourage other German lager-loving BAs to give it a try. Prost!

Pours a nice gold colour with a thick fluffy head. Corny and grainy on the nose. Bready and biscuits on the taste with hints of metallic. Nicely carbonated

On tap @ the brewery - tapped a hazy gold color with a long lasting bone white cap...the old German adage about beer being liquid bread is fully in evidence in this Kellerbier's aroma...pungent aromas of fresh bread with a grassy hop undertone...very flavorful and a delight to drink for those who like malty beers..rich malt spine with enough noble hopping to offset the remnant sweetness, earthy-herbal tones...well attenuated, goes a bit dry in the clean balanced finish with a biscuit kiss at the end...I LOVE authentic German lagers and particularly Keller/Zwickelbier...this is a pretty good domestic rendition...I could have stayed there all afternoon in the biergarten and quaffed oceans of this brew.
