Sunken Isles is our representation of the IPA as we know it today. Brewed with a firm bitterness, approachable body, and dry finish, this beer is aggressively dry-hopped with Waimea, Citra, and Motueka hops. Sunken Isles is unfiltered and exploding with tropical fruit and citrus aromas.

Drank straight from 16 oz can; no birth date. Tastes of typical west coast ipa - bitter hops with strong backing malt backbone. Very good but nothing too exceptional.

Quite hazy, though apparently not a New England-style concoction. Flavors are clean and bitterness quite apparent. Aroma of green pepper and green melon. A touch of pencil shavings. Tangy and fruity with a dry finish.
Light, dry, and sudsy. Long lasting aromatics. Quite drinkable, though it gets spicy and even a little hot with acidity. Bitter atertaste. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine.

Spent way too much at Windmill Farms and then at North Park Beer Company, but happy with my selections. I was a little late to get on the Harland train, but they’ve been putting some good stuff lately. Back of the can description read, “Sunken Isles is our representation of the IPA as we know it today. Brewed with a firm bitterness, approachable body, and dry finish, this beer is aggressively dry-hopped with Waimea, Citra, and Motueka hops. Poured a hazy gold color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could not see any bubbles underneath the head. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled grapefruit, pine, orange, lemon and black pepper. In terms of hops, Waimea led the way with Citra and Motueka following. A little better out of the can with the addition of spoiled fruit. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted a little better than the nose. In order got orange rind, grapefruit, pine, lemon zest, black pepper, caramel malt and spoiled fruit. For mentioned hops, Waimea, followed by Motueka and Citra. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish. Really liked the way this went down. (Feel - 4.50)
This one grew on me as it went down. Very good overall. (Overall - 3.75)

This one is a lil different. It’s kinda going in all directions like a squirrel on acid. But that’s ok, cuz Raul has this. It gleams like her at midnight (yes, you know the one). And then it’s all zesty and citrusy like waking up hungover on an orange plantation in Florida (yeah, it’s not like the best ones you get from SoCal). It’s a good beer, but it’s not the most balanced. West Coast meets East Coast pithy juice bomb. It’s ok, but I wouldn’t want another.
Peace!
