Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $3.79
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 13, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 13, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 26, 2021
This was just about too late for me, canned 47 days ago, but I guess was 13 days under my limit. Bine & Vine’s website called it “West Coast IPA w/ Pikimai Cascade, Simcoe & Mosaic hops. Big notes of white grapes and honeydew, with a slight pine back bone.”
Poured a medium gold clear color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Average watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled Mosaic, cotton candy, apricot, melon, Simcoe, black pepper, garlic, Cascade, lemon, grass and some earthy pilsner malt. Not as good from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste was a tier down from the nose. Just didn’t quite work for me. Got spicy resin, dank pine, Simcoe, black pepper, garlic, Mosaic, cotton candy, apricot, melon, lemon, grass, earthy pilsner malt and hints of the mentioned Cascade. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This beer seemed better than my ratings but I guess it was what it was. I’d probably have this again. (Overall - 3.75)
