Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger khaki head that slowly dissipates to a thick cap with nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, peanut butter, vanilla and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt, unsweetened peanut butter, light cocoa, some coffee bitterness and a little vanilla. Flavor tapers off into the finish, but leaves a pleasant, lingering peanut butter flavor. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A solid porter base supports the great peanut butter flavor of this one, tasting like the less sweetened organic peanut butter I prefer that have more authentic peanut taste. Light cocoa and a hint of toasted malt. Great flavor depth for the ABV and a mildly dry finish that accentuates the nutty flavors. Well done. I found this in So. California although it's a Washington beer; I'd like to see something else from them.

Canned on 3-27
This beer pours pitch black. When pouring from the can, there's a 3 finger tan head. The head retention is ok. There's also some lacing on the glass.
The nose is a nice mixture of chocolate and peanut butter. The chocolate seems on the sweet side, but not too sweet.
Taste - a very pleasing chocolate and peanut butter flavor. Chocolate is more up front, and isn't too sweet, but there's some there. On the back the peanut butter kicks in.
Decent body, Good for the style.
Delicious beer.

Solid black appearance with light carbonation. Has an above average body with a creamy thick feel which all added up to a great body
Aroma is peanuts and fresh ground peanut butter upfront. Malt, roasted malt with a little dark chocolate and coffee
Taste was definitely peanut butter but was more balanced than the aroma. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt added to the flavor which was well done and not artificial like some dessert beer can come off as.
Overall an excellent beer that's worth trying

Shimmering lighter black pour complete with brown head. Smells as the can says "as the name says". Meta bro. But really a dollop of peanut butter is dumped into a lightly roasted and chocolate porter, kisses of vanilla too. Taste though has a burnt/metal off note on the finish as it warms, taking away form the pleasant peanut butter and malt beginning. Feel is lighter and malty but plenty creamy, light roast too. Solid but could have been great without the burnt note distracting

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head that left some lacing down the sides of the glass and a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Light to moderate aromas of peanut butter are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has stronger flavors of peanut butter along with hints of chocolate.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This porter is packed with lots of aromas and flavors of peanut butter. I really enjoyed this porter.

From Tavour. (How else would I get a nano's brew from a city I've only flown over.)
Humble Abode is only 18 months old. Very much a Mom 'n Pop shop which, according to UnTappd, has 159 brews. Impressive. About 1/3 of the brews are variations of porters and stouts... also unusual. I'm sure they will keep going despite challenging times. I had to root through their Facebook page to get to their website. It is basic, but shows their passion. Good luck in making it through 2021 stronger !

As for Peanut Butter Porter, it is better than an experiment and appears to be a cash cow ... but not yet a winner. It Looks great, a generous head. Smells clearly say "peanut butter." In the Taste, I got a bit more artificial flavor than I like... but I'm sure they will work through that. Viscous and soft in the mouth.

If you can find it, try Peanut Butter Porter... it will make you feel like a kid again.

this really is dynamite, one of the better peanut butter beers i can recall having, served on nitro at their taproom, a perfect format for something like this, so smooth and mellow feeling. lots to like about this near black creamy brew, firstly all the peanut butter, which is not at all oily or greasy, but very natural and nicely dosed. it almost has a chocolate covered vibe with the dark grain in here, really a cool earthy cocoa note in this, way more than one dimensional with the peanut. there is nice roasted bitterness to this, so the little bit of caramel sweetness that carries the peanut is balanced and its not too much. the nitro almost makes this relaxing, its awesome. dark chocolate in the finish with the peanut, which has some roast of its own. i get none of the powdered peanut thing so many of these have either, its totally free of the usual pitfalls of the style. almost a mixed nut thing here too with traces of almond and walnut to my palate as well, deeply earthy. light coffee bitterness late, lots of body too. overall an impressive offering, even if you dont like desserty beers of flavored stouts, this is worth a try, well ahead of my expectations, a real triumph!
