This beer is a celebration of the people behind it: the workers, brewers. bartenders, and everyone between. We survived an unprecedented year, and that deserves a celebration, as well as a sturdy brew. This quad is brewed with blue agave and piloncillo sugar.

Bought from Beermiscuous who put together this collaboration along with Bold Dog. I added this under Casa Humilde because that's what UnTappd did and because I recognize Humilde's tastes much more than I know Bold Dog's.
While not a quad from monk masters, everyone should buy Grand Crew for two good reasons.
First, it celebrates surviving an "unprecedented year.. with a sturdy brew." All true, but with qualifications. IMHO, 2020 was more unprecedented; but 2021 at least showed that people can do more to straighten things out. Setting politics aside, 2020 should have killed many, many more micros than the few it did. Compared to restaurants (whose young ones were common casualties in 2020), micros seemed to survive in the face of an atom-bomb adversity against their taproom business strategy. Micros did surprisingly well per my reading of BA 2020 statistics.
Second and more specific to the brewing talent Grand Crew honors.... This is yet another example of how American crafters innovate... and that should be celebrated, also. In the Great Lakes region of North America, Casa Humilde offers a Mexican/Central American-inspired twist that adds further to what the Belgian-inspired crafters of North America bring to this great tradition of brewing. Specifically, Humilde often uses piloncillo mostly to replace brewers sugar in the higher ABV Belgian styles. And for a first year cut at replacing what Belgian monks have passed down to several generations during the last few centuries, Humilde competes very well with the Belgian Bros. And for that, I give them very Big Overall Hugs.
Look for Grand Crew, celebrate 2021.
6/6/22 Bought again from Beermiscuous. I'm disappointed that I'm still the only BA reviewer 7 months later. But I'm glad to edit the above review and up the rating because Grand Crew really is better than I noted. Lesson: if a brew uses something new, drink it twice. I hope to find this again and am counting @ Untappd.
