Tart. (Sabor agrigio in spanish.)
Maracuya (an unripe passion fruit) is nicely tart. It stood up very well to a BBQ sauce; which is important since there is a BBQ vendor at the Brew Yards, Humilde's home. Whatever Humilde did to brew this tart, they should share it with brewers who go all in with Brett thinking it is King Tart.
Maracuya doesn't Look promising; no foam after a few seconds (seemingly), but a decent amber cloudiness. Smells are powerful, lots of tart. That causes the Tastes to be barely balanced; but still interesting. And as I said, it had enough power to cut through a spicy-sweet BBQ... which is better than the weak wit that got overwhelmed by the BBQ that I also was drinking. Despite its power, Maracuya Feels only slightly above average in my mouth. Call it medium mouthed.
I'm a big fan of Humilde and its dedication to the flavors of Mexico. This was my 10th Humilde brew ... without ever having visited them (despite 10 promises to visit.) Someday soon, I will visit; I promise.
