Misc.: Collaboration with BlackStack; Quick review

Decided to review this after buying it and seeing it was a collaboration with BlackStack. Would be a quick review since I was there with Eric and Kevin after going to the Modern Times Black Friday event. The Untappd description was “Hazy 3XIPA collaboration with our buds at BlackStack Brewing. Nelson, Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops create bountiful flavors and aromas of orange sorbet, terpenes, cantaloupe, candied peaches, and pineapple sauce.”

Poured a bright golden orange color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy off-white head when I got it. No noticeable bubbles underneath the head. World-class lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled Citra, Nelson, orange, tangerine, pineapple, peach, papaya, Mosaic, floral, mango, passion fruit and Fruity Pebbles cereal. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better than the nose. Got Citra, Nelson, orange juice, pineapple, tangerine, papaya, Mosaic, passion fruit and Fruit Pebbles cereal. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)

This was just an awesome beer as you’d expect with these two breweries. (Overall - 4.50)

Canned on 11/17/22; consumed on 12/14/22

Pours an opaque, dark golden orange body capped with three fingers of fluffy, soapy, white foam; good head retention yields a few mounded island of cap, a moderate, frothy collar, and myriad soapy, webby/spotty lacing dispersed across the walls of the glass.

Aromas of musty key lime phase to tangerine and a creamy, pithy mango underbelly; dry white grape pronounces over time as a subtle malt undertone lingers becomes steadily apparent.

Taste opens to lime zest lingering over a mid-palate highlighting tangerine pulp and vinous white grape, with touches of flaky malt leveling over the back end as creamy mango edges and subtle grass finish.

Mouthfeel brings a taut, medium body alongside a rounded fluff of moderate carbonation, dispersing creamy textures to a silky prickle over the mid-palate; an airy juiciness on the back end dries progressively through the finish.

Juicy, clean resins find a warming, earthy hop texture cleanly in line with a harmonizing malt base; a solid overall NETIPA, if without much distinction beyond the occasionally zesty, dank trend.
